Eco-friendly construction is increasingly becoming the norm. With a new drinking water and heating pipe based on renewable, bio-circular raw materials, REHAU supports planners and builders in achieving their sustainability goals.
RAUTITAN flex green is a drinking water and heating pipe made of high-pressure cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xa). What is special about it: The plastic is made from renewable, bio-circular raw materials. For example, vegetable fats that arise as waste and by-products in the food industry are used. External and independent certification by ISCC Plus ensures that the proportion of renewable raw materials can be transparently tracked along the value chain. ISCC Plus (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) is a global certification program and aims to establish sustainable raw material chains.
The polyethylene used consists of 100 percent renewable, bio-circular raw materials in terms of mass balance. This means that more than 90 percent of CO2 is saved in the production of RAUTITAN flex green compared to conventional fossil-based PEX pipes .
Proven sustainable, flexible and reliable as before
The new RAUTITAN flex green has the same advantages as the tried and tested RAUTITAN flex. It is hygienically optimized for drinking water installations. The smooth inner walls and the high tightness of the dead space-free connection technology effectively prevent germs. There is only a small risk of kinking, especially with small dimensions. Nevertheless, the pipe is flexible and can be easily bent over the thumb without tools, even at low temperatures. The sustainable plastic pipe creates a permanently tight connection with fittings and sliding sleeves. The pipe itself is the sealant, without an O-ring and without manual markings.
RAUTITAN flex green complies with DIN EN ISO 15875 and is oxygen-tight according to DIN 4726. It can be used universally for drinking water and heating installations and is compatible with the REHAU RAUTITAN system of pipes, fittings, sliding sleeves and tools.
REHAU supports architects, planners and building owners on the way to successful sustainable building certification according to DGNB or QNG.
